Ingredients:
- 1 can of tuna, drained (preferably packed in water or oil, based on preference)
- 1/4 cup cottage cheese (smooth or slightly chunky, based on your texture preference)
- 1 tablespoon mustard (optional, for a little tang)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice (for freshness)
- 1/4 cup celery, finely chopped (for crunch)
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped (for flavor)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 slices of your favorite bread (whole grain, sourdough, or even a baguette works great!)
- Lettuce or spinach (optional, for added freshness)
Directions:
- Mix the Tuna: In a bowl, combine the drained tuna, cottage cheese, mustard (if using), lemon juice, celery, and red onion.
- Season: Add salt and pepper to taste. Mix well until all ingredients are combined and you reach a creamy consistency.
- Assemble the Sandwich: Spread the tuna mixture evenly onto a slice of bread. Add lettuce or spinach if you’d like.
- Top and Serve: Place the second slice of bread on top, cut the sandwich in half, and enjoy!
