Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef (or any ground meat you prefer: pork, turkey, or lamb)
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or any cheese you like)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (or use full-fat sour cream for a tangier twist)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional, for flavor)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 eggs (to help thicken and bind the mixture)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for extra flavor)
- Freshly cooked bacon bits or pork rinds (for topping, optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Meat: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef (or your chosen meat) over medium heat. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook until browned and fully cooked through. Drain excess fat if necessary, but keep some for extra flavor.
- Make the Cheese Sauce: In a separate saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the heavy cream and stir until it begins to simmer. Once it starts to simmer, lower the heat and slowly stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. (If you want a thicker sauce, you can whisk in the Parmesan cheese as well.)
- Combine the Meat and Sauce: Once the meat is cooked and drained, add it to the cheese sauce. Stir to combine.
- Add the Eggs: In a separate bowl, lightly beat the eggs and then stir them into the meat and cheese mixture. This will help bind everything together and give it a creamy, rich texture.
- Bake or Serve: You can either serve the mixture as is, or for a crispy top, transfer it to a baking dish and bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 10-15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly. Optionally, top with crumbled bacon or crushed pork rinds for added crunch.
- Serve & Enjoy: Spoon out your carnivore mac and cheese and enjoy your rich, hearty, meat-filled dish!
